Please read this Medical Disclaimer carefully before using any service offered by Learning Motherhood (“LM”, “we”, “us”). It applies to all guidance shared through our WhatsApp groups, website, Parenting Library, and any other communication from our specialist panel.

1. Genuine Specialists, Provided Remotely

The paediatricians, lactation specialists, gynaecologists, yoga therapists, and other experts on our panel are genuine, qualified, and, where applicable, licensed practitioners. The guidance they provide is based on their own professional training, judgment, and clinical experience — it is real, informed guidance, not generic content.

However, this guidance is provided remotely through WhatsApp, without a formal in-person physical examination. Learning Motherhood itself is not a hospital, clinic, telemedicine platform, pharmacy, or emergency medical service — we operate the platform and coordinate your panel; the specialists provide the guidance.

2. Continuous Support, Not a Replacement for In-Person Care

The guidance shared through LM is intended as continuous, everyday support between visits — to supplement, not replace: – An in-person examination by a qualified, registered medical practitioner. – Your child’s regular paediatrician or your own treating doctor. – Emergency or urgent medical care.

Where LM’s guidance differs from advice you’ve received in person, or where a matter feels serious, we recommend consulting your treating doctor directly or seeking an in-person opinion.

3. Emergencies

LM is not equipped to handle medical emergencies. If you or your child experience any of the following (this list is illustrative, not exhaustive), stop using LM for that issue and seek immediate in-person or emergency care: – Difficulty breathing, choking, or blue/pale skin colour – High or persistent fever, especially in a newborn – Seizures, unresponsiveness, or loss of consciousness – Severe bleeding, vomiting, or dehydration – Any symptom that feels urgent or is rapidly worsening

In an emergency, contact your local emergency medical services or go to the nearest hospital immediately — do not wait for a response on WhatsApp.

4. Guidance Is Given in Good Faith, Based on What You Share

Our specialists respond based on their professional judgment and the information, photos, or descriptions you provide. They do not have access to your or your child’s full medical history, physical examination findings, or lab reports unless you explicitly share them. Incomplete or imprecise information (an inherent limitation of the remote, WhatsApp-based format) may affect the guidance given. You remain responsible for sharing complete and accurate information and for seeking in-person evaluation where appropriate.

5. Your Choice, Your Discretion

Whether to act on any guidance shared through LM is entirely your decision. You are free to seek a second opinion, an in-person consultation, or to disregard guidance you’re not comfortable with at any time. Parenting and child health are individual and variable, and LM does not guarantee any specific outcome, improvement, or resolution of any concern as a result of using our services.

6. Independent Specialists

Specialists on our panel are independent, genuinely qualified practitioners or consultants engaged by LM to be part of your dedicated panel. LM operates the platform, panel coordination, and WhatsApp group infrastructure that connects you with them.

7. Limitation of Liability

Because guidance is provided remotely, in good faith, based on each specialist’s professional judgment and the information available to them, and because acting on it is entirely your choice, neither LM nor the specialists on our panel shall be held liable for any outcome arising from reliance on guidance shared through the platform, except where such outcome arises from proven gross negligence or wilful misconduct on the part of LM or the specialist concerned.

8. Your Acknowledgment

By using Learning Motherhood’s services, you acknowledge that: – Our specialists are genuine, qualified practitioners providing guidance remotely, not through in-person examination. – You will seek appropriate in-person or emergency medical care when needed. – You use any guidance provided at your own discretion, and will independently verify important health decisions with your treating doctor where needed.
